Beirat für Raumentwicklung hat in Berlin getagt

Auf der dritten Sitzung dieser Legislaturperiode berieten die Mitglieder des Beirats für Raumentwicklung am 13. April 2026 über das weitere Vorgehen zum Leitbild Flächenbedarfe und Flächenkonkurrenzen gestalten und wie dieses politisch und gesellschaftlich breit kommuniziert werden kann. Mit Blick auf den "Bauturbo" wurden gezielte Unterstützungsangebote für Kommunen diskutiert und erste Anwendungsfälle vorgestellt.

Des Weiteren wurde über den aktuellen Sachstand und den Beginn der Anhörung von Ländern und Verbänden zur BauGB-/ROG-Novelle beraten. Auch über die Zusammenarbeit der Bundesressorts bzw. ein Rückblick auf die Sitzung des Interministeriellen Ausschusses für Raumordnung im Februar 2026 war Thema der BfR-Sitzung.

What strategies for reducing land use are appropriate in European countries? How can we learn from one another, and what fundamental issues are becoming apparent? 

The international working group Land Take in Europe - In Pursuit of Net Zero met for its first live workshop at HOGENT University in Ghent (Belgium). The event was hosted by Dr. Ir. Peter Lacoere, who, together with Prof. Thomas Hartmann (co-chair of the working group), led the group through intensive discussions on the land-use target of Net Zero. Participants from 11 countries discussed country-specific approaches to reducing land use in plenary sessions and workshops. In particular, the obstacles to ambitious strategies were discussed, but participants also learned from best practices and made extensive use of the opportunity for collaboration.

We are seeking to fill the position of a PostDoc Researcher (m/f/d) – pay grade 13 TV-L – working a full-time weekly schedule, on a fixed-term contract for 18 months. The position is situated within the Justice First Project, an international and interdisciplinary research collaboration examining how energy transition planning can be made more just, climate-resilient, and socio-culturally embedded.

The ARL and the Stuttgart Region are bringing experts together for a European dialogue.

How can the accelerated expansion of renewable energy be reconciled with biodiversity protection and meaningful public participation? Around 30 participants from research, administration and policy came together to discuss one of the key challenges of the energy transition.

Integrierte Transformationsräume - Eckpunkte einer handlungsorientierten Raumkategorie

Hans-Martin Zademach, Damian Jerjen, Manfred Miosga und Simon Dudek stellen Überlegungen zu "Integrierten Transformationsräumen" als neuer Raumkategorie und Instrument der räumlichen Planung vor. Sie beschäftigen sich damit, wie unterschiedliche Nutzungsanforderungen innerhalb eines Raumes synergetisch und im Sinne einer starken Nachhaltigkeit zusammengeführt werden können.
