During the online conference, good practices from the different Alpine countries will be presented and there will be an opportunity for exchange with professionals from different Alpine Space countries. Die Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Hessen/Rheinland-Pfalz/Saarland der ARL - Akademie für Raumentwicklung in der Leibniz-Gemeinschaft lädt zur Online-Veranstaltung „Post-Corona: Wie entwickelt sich die Mobilität in Stadt und Region?“ am Freitag, den 5. November 2021 von 9:00 bis 11:30 Uhr ein.

Die für alle öffentliche Veranstaltung ist Teil der 138. Sitzung der Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft.  Die Anmeldung ist bis Mittwoch, den 27. Oktober 2021 möglich.

To mark the launch of ARL's interactive knowledge and communication platform, we ran a free, non-commercial photo competition from March to July 2021, seeking participants' personal views on how spaces change over time - a multifaceted topic on which we received personal impressions, illustrations and ideas, but also criticism and perspective on contradictions!

Die Flut vom Juli 2021 mit zahlreichen Toten und schwersten Zerstörungen hat in Deutschland erneut zu einer Umweltkatastrophe größten Ausmaßes geführt. Mittlerweile stehen neben Soforthilfen und den großzügigen Spenden Privater umfangreiche staatliche Finanzmittel für einen Wiederaufbau zur Verfügung. Bei den Überlegungen zur Verwendung dieser Mittel stellt sich jedoch die Frage, ob und wieweit auf den zerstörten Flächen überhaupt noch bauliche Anlagen zugelassen werden sollen. Diesen Fragen widmet sich die vorliegende Stellungnahme der ARL, die sich in erster Linie an die zuständigen Träger der Verwaltung auf allen Ebenen, aber auch an den Gesetzgeber richtet. Dabei ist uns bewusst, dass für den kurzfristigen Wiederaufbau zunächst vom geltenden Rechtsrahmen auszugehen und der wichtige Beitrag der Regional- und Landesplanung einzubeziehen ist. Unzumutbar wäre für die betroffenen Bürgerinnen und Bürger sowie Kommunen ein längerer Baustopp, bis neue Regeln in Kraft gesetzt und umgesetzt worden sind. Da nach den maßgeblichen Prognosen künftig häufiger extreme Wetterlagen eintreten dürften als bisher, bedarf es jedoch dringend auch grundsätzlicher Überlegungen zur Fortentwicklung dieses Rechtsrahmens. 

Three ARL position papers dealing with central topics of spatial development – multilocal living, migration, and equivalent living conditions - are now available in English. 

ARL Position Paper 123: Multilocal Living and Spatial Development discusses a current social phenomenon that has spatial implications at various levels: multilocal living arrangements. The growing significance of this phenomenon corresponds to the accelerated pace of social change in today’s society. The framework in which multilocal lifestyles develop can be outlined in keywords such as Europeanisation and globalisation, migration and transnationalisation, or the individualisation and pluralisation of lifestyles. The papers explores the key areas of spatial research, presents current spatial trends and their implications, and concludes with the policy implications.
