Library

The ARL headquarters in Hannover maintains a specialised library, which today contains over 9,000 media units from spatial science subject areas and their peripheral areas.
Here, both in-house academic staff and external visitors (including those from the ARL network) are offered advisory services and literature searches.
The ARL Library has been a member of the Gemeinsamer Bibliotheksverbund (GBV) since 2015. Interested members of the public can access the library's holdings via its own online catalogue (ARL-OPAC), which is part of the Gemeinsamer Verbundkatalog (GVK).
The collection development of our specialised library is oriented towards the ARL's four research fields.
- Society and Economy in Transformation
- Climate and Natural Resources
- Theories and Practice of Spatial Planning
- Reflection on Spatial Research and Development
A particular focus is placed on the following sub-collections:
- ARL publications
- Collection focus on planning literature of the federal states
- Collection focus on "Gender & Planning"
- Spatial and planning science journals
The library can be used by prior arrangement. However, the collection is not available for loan.
