Neuherausgabe des Handwörterbuchs der Raumentwicklung

The “Handwörterbuch für Raumentwicklung” (Compendium of Urban and Regional Development) is intended as a professionally sound and compact reference work for exploring the multi-faceted field of spatial science research as well as spatial planning and development topics and contains contributions by renowned experts. It is aimed at researchers, teachers and students, practitioners, politicians and administrators as well as anyone interested in spatial development issues or involved in planning processes. The ARL Executive Board has decided to publish a new edition of the Handwörterbuch für Raumentwicklung, which is being implemented purely digitally for the first time. An online-only version of the Compendium allows for a continuous and needs-based adaptation of the articles, for example to legal changes, dynamic social processes and their effects on spatial development, and facilitates the constant availability of high-quality and up-to-date articles. In preparation for the new edition, an editorial committee was set up to provide technical and editorial support for the new digital version. The editorial committee for the new edition of the Handwörterbuch der Raumentwicklung is expected to exist for three years. It comprises six members and has been put together on an interdisciplinary basis in order to do justice to the comprehensive range of topics covered by the future compendium.
