Save the Date: International conference on sustainable spatial development in the Alpine Space
Tuesday, 19th – Wednesday, 20th of October 2021 | AlpenCongress in Berchtesgaden, Germany. In collaboration with the “AlpPlan” alpine spatial planning network.
Based on their individual spatial planning systems, Alpine countries and regions have developed various tools and instruments to safeguard open spaces and reduce land take. They play an important role in implementing sustainable spatial development. In order to enable transnational exchange and learning on that matter, the Academy for Territorial Development in the Leibniz Association (ARL), the Interreg Alpine Space project “OpenSpaceAlps”, and the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy; Department of Regional Planning (StMWi) have joint forces.
Together we are hosting an international conference:
“Towards sustainable spatial development – transnational lessons on the safeguarding of open spaces and the reduction of land take”
Our goals are
- to define the main challenges in safeguarding open spaces and reducing land take,
- to exchange “good practices” and innovative approaches that contribute to a sustainable planning and space efficient development of built-up land and infrastructure and
- to define thematic priorities for the transnational “AlpPlan” alpine spatial planning network.
We would be pleased if you would already make a note of this date. More information about the conference and registration will be available on the website of the AlpPlan network.
The event is planned as a presence event in compliance with the required health, hygiene and distance measures. Given the ever dynamic development of the Corona pandemic, we reserve the right to adapt the event format at short notice and offer a hybrid or digital event.
With best regards,
