ILUS - International Land Use Symposium 2021

On behalf of the organizing committee it is our pleasure to draw your attention to the 4th International Land Use Symposium on "Modelling an uncertain future: spatial data science for sustainable land use".

The symposium will be held November 23-24 2021, in-person (not virtually) at the Technion in Haifa, Israel.

A pre-conference Workshop on Geosimulation of urban transformations and land use will be held on November 22 at the same venue.

The organizing committee welcomes the submission of original research contributions aimed at advancing our understanding of land use and land cover (LULC) dynamics, in order to cope with the emerging challenges of sustainable development and disruptive local and global events, including the COVID-19 pandemic. The upcoming event will focus on the following thematic areas:

Post-COVID City: How to Improve Emergency Preparedness?

The Economics of Land Use: Sustainability versus free markets.

Land-Use Governance: Role of planning for sustainable land use?

Climate Change and Land-Use Dynamics: What will happen in the next decades?

We look forward to your contributions and participation in the 4th International Land Use Symposium at the Technion in Haifa!

Best regards,
Dr. Dani Broitman and Dr. Martin Behnisch (on behalf of the organizing committee)
