Nachhaltiger Tourismus an Nord- und Ostsee
Der Tourismus spielt an der deutschen Nord- und Ostseeküste bei der Steuerung der Raumentwicklung durch die Landes- und Regionalplanung eine an Bedeutung zuneh-mende Rolle. Verantwortlich dafür ist, dass der Tourismus als Wirtschaftsbereich einer überdurchschnittlichen Dynamik unterliegt. Der Freizeitsektor ist ganz allgemein einem starken Wandel unterworfen, was die Konsumgewohnheiten, Angebotsformen und weltweiten Rahmenbedingungen von Freizeit und Urlaub betrifft. Auch an der Nord- und Ostsee muss man darauf reagieren.
Die Folge sind zahlreiche große und kleine Projekte, die sich fast ausschließlich in unmittelbarer Küstennähe befinden. Raumplanerisch extrem sensible Zonen sind betroffen. Bei der Beurteilung der Projekte ist hohe Sorgfalt gerade auch in der Landes- und Regionalplanung erforderlich. Der vorliegende Band enthält zu dieser Thematik eine Reihe von Einzelbeiträgen und schließt mit konkreten Empfehlungen zur Berücksichtigung der Belange des Tourismus in Landes- und Regionalplanung.
On Germany’s North Sea and Baltic coasts, tourism is playing an ever more important role in the context of steering spatial development by means of state-level and regional planning. The explanation for this is to be found in the above-average dynamism of tourism as an economic sector. The leisure sector in general is in the throes of quite radical transformation in terms of consumption habits, types of supply and the global conditions affecting leisure and holiday travel. This is something the North Sea and Baltic coasts also need to respond to.
The upshot is that there are currently countless large- and small-scale projects in progress almost entirely in close proximity to the coast. Some of the zones affected are extremely sensi-tive in terms of spatial planning. Appraising such projects calls for extreme care to be exercised particularly in state-level and regional planning. This compendium brings together a number of papers related to this topic, concluding with concrete recommen-dations on how the interests of tourism might be taken into account in state-level and regional planning.
