Workshop offers for Docs, Postdocs and Researchers of Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Helmholtz and Leibniz Association

Workshops: Socially Responsible Research – What does it mean? Dear (Post)Doctoral Researchers and Research Associates,

We hereby want to announce the next English Workshops on Socially Responsible Research, which is offered by the LeNa Shape research project. You can take part for free.

Online: 3rd/4th November 2022, Thursday and Friday (9 a.m. to 12:30 each) – a few places available

Online: 30st November/1st December 2022, Wednesday and Thursday (9 a.m. to 12:30 each) – new date

LeNa Shape conducts research on the concept of excellence within the scientific community as well as on the motivation that encourages researchers to reflect upon their projects in a socially responsible way. The workshop focuses on the latter. It takes place in the effort to shape non-university research processes in a socially responsible way and thus – regardless of the actual research topic – wants to foster the sustainable design of research activities.

An analytical framework for comparing land policies in Europe

The ARL International Working Group on Land Policies in Europe prepares two significant milestones. Most recently, the IAK met in Dortmund. In August 2022, the group of experts (from 11 European countries) gathered to prepare the IAK’s next outcomes. In particular, the working group is currently preparing the two most important outputs: First, a compilation of recent land policy innovations across planning laws in different European countries is being prepared in form of a special issue with the journal “Raumforschung und Raumordnung | Spatial Research and Planning” (RuR).

Furthermore, a second milestone is being prepared. The group intends to develop a book project that presents land policies in Europe in a comprehensible way. The book should cover the current developments and thus enable experts to get valuable insights. The group aims to prepare the book so that it can be read and understood by policy-makers and planning students across the continent.

CELEBRATING ONE YEAR WITH ARL-INTERNATIONAL.COM

One year ago we successfully launched arl-international.com. This was a culmination of brainstorming between the entire International team and our huge network of experts working hard to make this site a reality. One year later, we have a platform with many registered users, published articles, events, and a consistent flow of new content on issues related to spatial development. This process is continuous, meaning that the platform will never be "finished", and we are constantly updating and delivering new content and features.

We encourage you to visit arl-international.com, especially the Knowledge Base, which is the heart of our platform and where you can experience the academic depth of the ARL. Currently, we offer more than 20 country profiles which describe unique planning systems for each particular country, and which we plan to expand by 10 additional profiles in the very near future. This will provide you with  an excellent comparative overview of the planning systems of many different countries.
